The UK's role as the provider of finance expertise to the world, is demonstrated by it's status as the leading net exporter of financial services. In 2016-17, the latest full year for which analysis is available, the UK's exports of £78bn heavily outweighed imports of just £17bn.

Trade with other key markets including the USA, Japan, India, Canada and Australia has also benefited from steady increases.
